Veteran Ghanaian rapper, Tinny, has expressed his view that Disc Jockeys are killing real music in Ghana in order to please dancers.

Speaking with Yfm Ghana, the ‘Makola Kwakwe’ rapper feels lovers of good music have misunderstood everything for beats and blame Djs for being the architect of the problem.

‘Now the music is more about business than creativity. Now it’s beats – People want to dance. I don’t think we believe in good music anymore.

‘My problem now is the DJs. They are killing real music. They believe in mixing for people to dance and if you have a great record which is below the tempo they are mixing in, they won’t give your record rotation.’

Having been in the rap game since 1994, Tinny, whose real name is Nii Addo Quayno, would appear to known what he is saying but many feel he only has that opinion because he is no longer commanding the attention and influence of years gone by in the Ghana music scene.
